How it works

From Gong to a living spreadsheet

The whole setup takes a few minutes. Here’s the path from a fresh account to a Google Sheet that keeps itself up to date.

  1. 1. Sign in

Gong2Sheets uses passwordless sign-in. Enter your email on the sign-in page and we’ll send a one-time code; enter it to land in your dashboard. There’s nothing to install.

  2. 2. Connect Gong

In Gong, an admin can create API credentials under Company Settings → Ecosystem → API. You’ll get an Access Key, an Access Key Secret, and your API base URL (it looks like https://us-12345.api.gong.io).

On the Connections page, paste those three values. We validate them against Gong immediately, then store the secret encrypted at rest — we never display it again.

  3. 3. Connect Google

Click “Connect Google” and grant access. Gong2Sheets requests a single permission: to manage the spreadsheets it creates. It cannot see or touch anything else in your Drive.

Your Google authorization is encrypted at rest, and you can disconnect at any time from the Connections page or your Google Account’s security settings.

  4. 4. Create a sync

A sync is a saved set of filters pointed at a Google Sheet. Give it a name, choose your filters — owners, workspaces, date range, direction, trackers, and more, mirroring the Gong calls page — and pick a destination sheet (or let us create one).

Run a backfill to seed the sheet with recent calls. Each call becomes one row: date, title, participants, duration, direction, trackers, and the full speaker-labeled transcript.

  5. 5. Let it stay current

Turn on hourly polling and Gong2Sheets checks for new matching calls every hour, appending them to your sheet and de-duplicating automatically. Transcripts that aren’t ready yet are retried until they are.

From here, the sheet is yours: pivot it, chart it, write formulas, or feed it to an AI to analyze your conversations at scale.

Frequently asked

What lands in my sheet?
One row per call: date, title, participants, call direction, duration, Gong trackers, a link back to the call in Gong, and the full transcript with each line labeled by speaker.
What Google data does Gong2Sheets access?
Only the spreadsheets it creates on your behalf, via the Google Sheets API. It does not read, list, or modify any other files in your Google Drive. See our Privacy Policy for the full Limited Use disclosure.
Do you store my call transcripts?
No. Transcripts and call details are written straight to your Google Sheet. On our side we keep only the call IDs needed to avoid writing duplicates, plus your encrypted credentials.
Can I use a sheet I already have?
Yes — paste any Google Sheets URL when you create a sync, or leave it blank and we’ll create a fresh spreadsheet for you.
How often does it update?
Backfill runs on demand. Once polling is on, each enabled sync checks Gong every hour and appends any new matching calls.
How do I stop syncing or delete my data?
Disable polling or delete a sync anytime from your dashboard, and disconnect Gong or Google from the Connections page. Removing a connection revokes our access; deleting a sync removes its stored call IDs.
